So I fixed my computer. It took the whole day, but now its back to normal working order. But after this little fiasco, I have totally decided that I'm buying a Mac. I guess my new Triton keyboard and my Bass guitar are going to have to wait to next spring...or my birthday. :)

I plan on purchasing the brand spanking new Apple G5</a>. God's gift to computers.

the one only real reason for me to switch to Mac, but not enough.

Wait for the next generation of the G5, and see what was different between the two. If there was nothing seriously wrong with the first generation at that point, buy the first. In the world of computers, it's recommended to NEVER buy the TOP of the line, but the 2nd. That way you're only loosing a .??% increase to a 5% increase at most, and you're saving a shit load of money.

lets you do payment plans without getting credit approval before hand (unless it's like a $1000 total purchase.) You can at least buy a bass and still save money over time. Just buy a little $250-$300 bass. Especially since you're starting out. have it paid off in three months at about $99 a month.

Well technically, the Apple G5 is just an upgrade of the G4. That was the first wave of that kind of computer and like you said, it had problems at times. I'm guessing that the G5 would be the new and improved version.

You could save yourself a lot of money and switch your current computer to linux. Though it does have a sharp learning curve I'm told. The G5 is going to be more improved than the G4 obviously, but it'll probably have it's own little issues as well.
